JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Director, Translational Medicine will work with leaders across disciplines and functions, within medical affairs, clinical development, preclinical development, research and development, regulatory affairs, marketing to provide clinically relevant and focused partnership for product development for cell therapies. The candidate will have a strong record of organizational integration, and will provide clinical perspective and leadership that integrates efforts between departments. The candidate will have a keen eye for reduction to practice of integrative science in immune mediated diseases and will work with research functions to frame and articulate the critical questions that will promote and enable scientically-driven clinical development. The individual will enable the organization to test specific scientific hypothesis for product development for cellular therapies.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Skills/Knowledge Required:

An advanced doctorate degree (MD, PhD or MD/PhD) with extensive training and experience in translational medicine and clinical pharmacology, with a working knowledge on non clinical development (tox, drug metabolism and PK), a career focus in Biologics, preferably Cell Therapeutics
Advanced knowledge of clinical and basic research methodologies and pharmacokinetics required in bridging the transition from animals to humans and conducting pahse I and proof of principle, microdosing, and/or human pharmacology studies
A reputation for significant contributions in product success with a foundation in immunological sciences, with demonstrated expertise in translational development
A breadth of organizational experiences in academics, biopharma companies
Clinical development experience on biologics with a solid understanding of regulatory paths to approval and strategies for positioning products for commercial success
Research experience in multiple scientific disciplines, particularly in immunology, and cell biology
