JOB DESCRIPTION:
Basic Responsibilities:
Drive worldwide Medical Affairs disease strategy and plan enhancing product profile, generating superior competitive value and aligned to the disease strategy, franchise strategy and respective product strategies. Ensure suitable coverage of aspects of medical practice and patient management, drug combinations, health economics and outcomes research into plan. Drive innovative concepts and ideas to identify new medical applications for patients .Accountable for medical aspects of Medical Affairs activities across disease.
Ensure suitable input from Medical Community and ensure that activities take into account the gathered input and feedback. Build mutually valuable partnerships with Medical Community though the design, planning and execution of the Medical Affairs program.
Coordinate Medical Affairs activities across disease so that activities are aligned to strategy, consistent and leverage each other. Lead Medical Affairs Disease teams including Medical Affairs associates representing disease activities across third part sponsored trials. Represent Medical Affairs activities across disease at the respective project teams as a member of the project team in suitable stages of the life cycle.
Develop publication trial strategy as well as strategy to support third-party sponsored research (eg investigator sponsored trials and Cooperative study group sponsored trials) supportive of and aligned to respective development strategy. Ensure medical quality, patient safety and scientific innovation as appropriate. Drive proposal review and ensure worldwide coordination of respective support programs.
Skills/Knowledge Required:
 Strong scientific background including an MD degree and 8+ years experience in a field relevant to clinical research
 Creative thinking and innovation
 Competitive attitude and accountability
 Extensive experience at a senior level within academia, pharmaceutical or biotech drug development (may include Medical Affairs, clinical research or regulatory affairs)
 Strong team-player with interpersonal, public communication and negotiation skills
 In depth experience in hematology/oncology
 Management experience, evidenced in prior work experience.
 Ability to speak for the company in area of responsibility.
 Must be able to travel for job responsibilities.
