JOB DESCRIPTION:
Basic Responsibilities:
The Director, Compliance and Regulatory Affairs is responsible for 1) managing Regulatory and Compliance activities for the Quality and Regulatory Affairs Group with minimal supervision from the Vice President, Quality, Regulatory Affairs and Tissue Services, 2) establishing Regulatory strategies for new product approval and life cycle management and continued Regulatory Compliance for products marketed by the Corporation including Compliance risk mitigation in US and Global markets, 3) monitoring industry standards for interpreting and implementing processes and systems to be compliant with standards, 4) developing business risk assessments for current and evolving regulations and standards, 5) insuring an effective audit system is implemented, 6) advising senior leadership on regulatory matters and managing regulatory inspections, 7) translating Business Strategies into operational objectives, and 8) leading a group of professionals and providing performance feedback, development plans and insuring effective communication occurs within and outside the department.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelors degree in Science or related field
· At least 10 years of regulatory experience in regulatory submissions or regulatory compliance
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Previous relevant US FDA regulatory experience in a health care environment
· Demonstrated ability to establish relationships with regulators and key opinion leaders.
· Demonstrated depth of insight into regulations and regulatory agency practices through traditional and creative approaches to regulatory approvals or compliance practices.
· Demonstrated ability of development and successful application of regulatory strategies.
· Demonstrated ability to partner with and influence key stakeholders.
· Demonstrated presentation and communication skills required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· MS, PhD or JD Degree applicable to business involving health care products.
· Previous position in a non-US regulatory agency.
· 10+ years of regulatory compliance experience.
· Experience in a non-US regulatory agency.
