JOB DESCRIPTION:
This individual will play a significant role in expanding the use of a product to fully address its potential benefits in cancer through inhibition of multiple relevant targets in cancer cells. This includes the use of said product by itself or in combination with other targeted or non targeted drugs. This will be accomplished through planning, design and implementation or support of a broad program of clinical studies that combines investigator initiated trials as well as company sponsored trials across a wide range of different types of cancer. The candidate will be required to write protocols and monitor studies, interact closely with multiple investigators across the country, help solve issues that arise in the implementation and conduct of studies, manage one or more Contract Research Organizations conducting trials for the program, keep close track of accrual on over 100 different studies and address any issues impeding patient accrual, assist with issues impeding contract development with sites, work with sites to facilitate publications resulting from studies, work with vendors to set up Investigator Meetings and Advisory Boards, work internally across teams and with different brands to disseminate information on the status of various studies and current data regarding the clinical utility of this product in different tumor types, collaborate with Marketing and with our Regional Scientific Associates to disseminate evolving data on studies within the program. Travel will be required to both meet with investigators conducting trials and to attend scientific meetings and Cooperative Group meetings. The estimated travel requirement is approximately 20% of the worktime and is confined to US locations. Additional responsibilities may be required as directed by your supervisor. JOB REQUIREMENTS:
The individual should have at least a Bachelors (but Masters preferred) level training in the biologic sciences and at least 2-3 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry with a minimum of 5 years of relevant clinical research/drug development experience. Knowledge of clinical trial design, analysis, and reporting is critical. Ability to problem solve, work in teams, lead others toward defined objectives and present complex data clearly are also critical. Ability to handle multiple tasks and to understand and work with multiple different types of complex disease entities is essential.
